amerikyan_jvlastnews_thumbAmerican University of Armenia (AUA) is a private, nonsectarian, independent university founded in 1991 in Yerevan, Armenia. The university is the first Armenian institution modeled on Western-style higher education, committed to teaching, research, and service. The university currently offers instruction leading to a master’s degree in the following eight fields of study: business administration, industrial engineering and systems management, computer and information science, political science, public health, law, comparative legal studies, and teaching English as a foreign language. By offering these programs in English, AUA strives to become accessible to qualified individuals from other countries in the region. Qualified students may complete an interdisciplinary Certificate in Environmental Conservation and Research. In preparation for the academic program, AUA offers its students instruction in the English language and in computer applications.


YSU

Yerevan State University (YSU) is  in Yerevan, Armenia. Founded on May 16 1919, it is the largest university in the country with 110 departments. Of its 3,150 employees, 1,190 comprise the teaching staff which includes 25 academicians, 130 professors, 700 docents (associate professors), and 360 assistant lecturers. The university has 400 researchers, 1,350 post-graduate students, and 8,500 undergraduates, including300 students from abroad. Instruction is in Armenia, but instruction in Russian and English for foreign students is arranged according to need. The academic year is from September 1 through June 30. 44497260Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi (YSMU), is a leading medical school in Yerevan, Armenia. The highest administrative organ is the University Council, which convenes at least twice a year. The hospitals, clinics and centers are involved in the University Council of Clinics. The faculties or the departments are the structures organizing the academic process. These faculties are: General Medicine, Stomatology, Pharmacy and Military medicine. After graduating from the University the students enter Internship or Residency. The main units in the academic process are the chairs, where students, interns and residents get their education. The training is carried out in Armenian, Russian and English languages. Students study the theoretical and clinical disciplines according to the academic curriculum of the faculty.

The university has a status of a higher educational institution in both states. The language of instruction and communication at the university is Russian. Beginning with one general department in 1999, to date RAU enrolls approximately 1,600 students in the following faculties: Law, Journalism, Economics, Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, Political Science, Tourism Studies and Promotion, Physics and Engineering, Electronics and Microelectronics, Medical Biochemistry, Psychology, Theory and Methodology of Teaching Foreign Languages and Cultures, Philology, Bioengineering and Bioinformatics.

49009714Armenian State University of Economics (ASUE) is a high-education institute, located in Yerevan, Armenia. It was founded on August 6, 1975. Its 5 faculties contain 29 departments. The teaching staff includes 41 professors, 130 docents (associate professors), and 40 assistant lecturers. The university has over 5000 undergraduates. ASUE is in co-operation with some international universities included "Paris-12" (France), University of Zaragoza (Spain), University of Florida (U.S.), Aomorea University (Japan) and London Economical College. Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture (ASIPC) is a high-education institute, located in Yerevan, Armenia. It was founded in 1945 and prepares trainers, sports journalists, specialists in kinesiology and adaptive physical training. The graduates are awarded a diploma, which is a state-authorized document asserting the higher education completion for state agencies.

Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) named after Khachatur Abovyan is institutional academy in Yerevan, Armenia. Armenian State Pedagogical University was founded in 1922, which prepares teachers in twenty fields.

The young graduates of FUAF apply their knowledge to the advantage of relationships between Armenia, France and Europe, as well as the development of Armenia. They are the leaders / managers of tomorrow. At the end of their studies each year roughly 70% of graduates find a job in their profession, some of whom pursue their education abroad, and in three years’ time this percentage amounts to almost 100.

 

 

imagesYerevan State University of Architecture and Construction A technical school opened within the newly-established Yerevan State University in 1921, graduating its first students in 1928. In July 1930, the Armenian Construction Institute, which by this stage had departments of Architecture and Construction, Hydrology and Chemical Engineering, was established with prominent architect Mikayel Mazmanyan as its first director. It grew and developed until on 11 January 1989, the Institute was renamed the Yerevan State University of Architecture and Construction by the Armenian SSR Council of Ministers. Its first rector (1989–2006) was Arest Baglaryan, since which time Professor Hovhannes Tokmajyan has been the rector. Its 7 faculties contain 23 departments.
